Ms. Shaw
Visual Art Instructor
Ms. Shaw is the teacher for Visual Art. She has been teaching for 13 years, 9 of which have been at Creswell. She graduated college in 2010 from Missouri State University with a degree in Art Education and minors in Printmaking and Art History. She was teacher of the year 2020.
During the course of Visual Arts students will be introduced to a wide variety of art media. Students also learn about Art history, contemporary art, art analysis, art curation, presentation and how to write about and reflect artworks.
At Creswell we have a studio with sewing machines, a tabletop printing press, clay slab roller, drawing horses, and ability to create work in plaster, a wide variety of printmaking, painting and ceramics. We are excited to be upgrading our studio with new tables, easels and ceramic wheels for the 2023-24 school year.
Throughout the school year students have opportunities to participate in afterschool art clubs such as yearbook club and art club.
