- Maintain personal hygiene and keep themselves personally neat and clean.
- Be appropriately dressed.
- No perfumes/cologne/ body spray/or perfumed lotions used in the classrooms, large/small meeting places, or hallways because of potential fragrance allergens.

Electronic Device Policy
For purposes of this document, an electronic device (also referred to as "device") is defined as: any device that can capture images, store information or communicate with individuals outside or inside the school environment, including but not limited to cell phones, personal tablets, smartwatches, Bluetooth headphones, earbuds and AirPods. This policy excludes MNPS laptops and tablets.
Revised 7/18/2025. Disclaimer: Creswell Middle School reserves the right to modify this policy as necessary.
Creswell Electronic Device Policy
-
Any electronic device(s) in the possession of a student must be placed in their Yondr Pouch and locked before the start of school at 7:30 a.m.
-
The device(s) must be turned off and remain powered off inside the Yondr Pouch for the entire school day.
-
Students are permitted to use their electronic device(s) after they are dismissed at 3:15 p.m.
-
Electronic devices may not be used during morning/after school tutoring or after school detention.
-
If a student does not have a Yondr Pouch, they may get one from the main office, leave their device in the office or leave their electronic device at home.
-
Parents, if you need to contact your child, we ask that you call the main office at (615) 291-6515. We are more than happy to relay your message to your child. Because your child is immersed in a structured learning environment from 7:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., we ask that parents, guardians and others refrain from attempting to contact your child during regular school hours on any electronic device.
-
Students found in violation of the policy will be asked to forfeit their electronic device(s). The electronic device will be labeled, placed in a bag and locked in the office until a parent comes to retrieve the device.
Electronic Device Violations
-
After a student's first offense, they must turn their device in to the main office.
-
With a student’s second offense, they will receive an office referral, as well as In School Suspension, for violating Code 203 in the MNPS Student Handbook (Electronic Devices: Improper Use of Cell Phone, smartwatch, Internet, or Electronic Devices). could be disqualified from the monthly and/or quarterly incentives. The student could also be disqualified from the monthly and/or quarterly incentives.
-
Any student who refuses to forfeit their device will be faced with further disciplinary action.
-
Multiple violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action including but not limited to In School Suspension and Out of School Suspension. Since students will not be allowed to call home regarding confiscated items, the earliest that these items can be picked up by a parent is after dismissal. The main office will not wait for parents to pick up phones.
Cyberbullying and Misconduct
The use of electronic devices at school is frequently the source of distractions, bullying, threats, fights and theft. Apps such as Instagram, Snapchat, Kik, and other similar sites are often used by teens to participate in such behavior.
Please have regular conversations with your child and monitor their access to electronic devices, apps and the internet. Incidents involving technology and/or cyberbullying inside and outside of school are subject to disciplinary action.
